Altius Bilbao has been managing a highly complex project since 2016. For 16 months, the docks of the port of Bilbao have seen the assembly of a port crane (STS) on rails 106 meters long, 68 meters high, 27 meters wide and weighing 1,280 tons. A great deal of engineering and precision was required for this project.
In January, once construction was completed, the crane was loaded aboard BigLift’s vessel “Happy Star” in a delicate operation that required millimeter-accurate calculations. During the 12 hours that the loading lasted, our colleagues from Bilbao remained at the dock, taking care of the good coordination of the loading and subsequent lashing.
