From the Risk Department, in collaboration with TT Club, this month we focus on road safety, a key issue for all of us in the transport sector.
Traffic accidents cause the death of more than 1.3 million people every year and generate enormous economic losses. Many of these accidents can be avoided if we take simple but effective measures.
Among the most common risks are personal injury, property damage, cargo damage, higher insurance costs, pollution and even reputational damage. Therefore, prevention must be a priority.
👉 What can we do?
- Plan routes well, avoiding risky areas and adjusting routes according to the season or weather.
- Train and regularly review drivers, ensuring that they know how to act in adverse conditions, handle fragile or dangerous goods, and maintain good driving practices: braking, safety distance, correct use of mirrors and signals, and clean and ventilated cabs.
- Be attentive to warning signs: do not accept off-route detours, check the experience of new drivers or subcontractors, take care of communication, and above all, do not ignore signs of fatigue.
Drive slowly and safely. Reducing accidents starts with us.
Safety first – always.
